Teledyne ML®9850 Sulfur Dioxide Analyzer

The Teledyne ML®
9850 is a U.V. Fluorescence sulfur dioxide
analyzer designed to measure ambient levels of SO2. The measurement principle relies on
the excitation of the SO2 molecule which occurs in the presence of a specific wavelength
(214 nanometers) of U.V. light and subsequent relaxation which produces a photon of light.
A photo multiplier tube allows the light emissions to be measured as the SO2 molecule
returns to a ground state. A hydrocarbon scrubbing system, containing no consumable
materials, removes interfering hydrocarbons prior to the ambient sample being measured.
The reference detector continuously monitors the intensity of the U.V. lamp and allows use
of a ratiometric measurement technique which compensates for lamp degradation.
Features:
Greater Lamp Lifetime - UV fluorescence technology
provides maximum sensitivity and long lamp lifetime, thus reducing operating cost.
Non-Consumable Hydrocarbon Removal System (Kicker) -
Provided standard, this permeation membrane device provides hydrocarbon removal without
costly scrubbing mediums.
Long Term Measurement Stability- The
Teledyne Teledyne ML®9850 captures
higher valid percentages of data, even under a poorly controlled environment.
Low Maintenance - No chopper means no need to replace
belts or motors.
U.S. EPA Equivalency Method Designation
EQSA-0193-092.
