Kraft Pulp Production 

A Kraft pulp mill facility produces fiber board, the main component of paper, from wood by pressure cooking wood chips in a water solution of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide (mixture is known as white liquor) to break down the wood into pulp. The process continues by washing, screening, bleaching, and drying the pulp. The Kraft process minimizes the impact on the environment by recycling waste wood, waste water, steam and heat and is currently the leading method for producing paper.
